Ms. Lares Kindergarten Class Assignments

Dear Parents:

Wow!! What a crazy school year. We don’t even know yet, what next year will be for Villacorta; Back to school or distance learning or a combination of both! The district is meeting with teachers and parents to come up with a plan that will most benefit our students at every grade level. So for now we wait to hear more. 

• NO spelling words this week, but continue with Seesaw, Happy Math and enjoy Epic! books all summer long. The students will be able to keep the Ipads at for the whole summer. The students will return the IPADS whenever they return to school, so please put them to good use. 
• The student’s certificates and report card will be mailed to your home by the end of the week. You may not get them till next week.  
• Our last Spirit Day will be Disney Day… so show off your DIsney gear or ears but please send us your picture by Wednesday, June 3rd!!! 

I want to thank you for your wonderful support through these challenging times and I want you to know I really miss my students because they are an amazing group of Kindergarteners….soon to be first graders!!! May you have a wonderful summer and feel free to send me messages, news or questions you may have. The school year may be almost over but our friendship continues forever. Love, Ms. Lares

WOW!! Que año escolar tan loco tuvimos. Todavía no sabemos qué va pasar el año escolar que entra en la escuela Villacorta; puede ser clases de distancia como ahora o regresar a la escuela normal o una combinación de las dos cosas. El distrito escolar está haciendo juntas con maestros y padres para poder hacer un plan que les beneficie mejor a los estudiantes de cada grado. Así que por ahora vamos esperar a que nos avisen el plan cuando decidan. 

• Esta semana NO hay palabras de ortografía, pero por favor que sigan los estudiantes aprendiendo en Seesaw, Happy Math y disfrutando de muchos cuentos en Epic! Books durante todo el verano. Los estudiantes van a poder tener las IPADS en casa durante el verano y las van entregar cuando regresemos a la escuela, asi que usen las IPAD todo el verano para seguir aprendiendo. 

• Los certificados y los reportes de calificaciones van a ser enviadas a sus casa por correo al fin de esta semana. Llegarán a sus casas hasta la próxima semana. 

• El tema de la última semana del espíritu escolar es Disney, asi que pongan se cualquier articulo disney que tengan de Disney y manden me su foto a más tardar el día miércoles 3 de junio.

Me gustaría darles las gracias a ustedes por apoyarnos en estos tiempos tan desafiantes y quiero que sepan que extraño mucho su niño/a por que este grupo de estudiantes de kinder eran genial…. y pronto serán estudiantes de primer grado!!! Que disfruten el verano y podemos seguir comunicándonos si tienen pregunta, noticias o alguna duda. El año escolar está por terminar pero nuestra amistad sigue para siempre - Con Cariño, Ms. Lares

Here are some more paper/pencil or cut/paste activities that students can do during the month of May. Besides technology Kindergarteners need practice cutting and pasting and using pencils and crayon.  Just pick and choose what you want your child to do. Thank you for your support.

Here are the spelling words for the week of 5/25/20-5/29/20.  Continue to work on the May packet that is posted on our school web page.  Please help your child log on to Happy Numbers, Seesaw, and Epic Reading, for at least 20 minutes on each of the programs a day to get them ready for first grade. Don’t forget to join us on Friday, May 29, at 11:00 am for our zoom class. Also our Villacorta Spirit Day will be “Pet Day” please send a photo of your child with a family pet to be added to our school slideshow. Aquí están las palabras de ortografía de la semana del 25 al 29 de mayo. Sigan trabajando en las tareas de mayo que se encuentra en la página de la escuela Villacorta. Por favor ayuden a sus hijos/as entrar a los programas de aprendizaje por internet, Happy Numbers, Seesaw y EPIC! Books, por lo menos 20 minutos en cada programa cada dia para que estén preparados para el primer grado. No se les olvide acompañarnos el dia viernes, 29 de mayo a las 11:00 am para nuestra junta Zoom. También, el tema de la semana de espíritu es las mascotas, mandenme una foto de su hijo/a con su mascota para poner en la página de la escuela Villacorta. Las fotos con sus mascotas me las deben mandar a no mas tardar del miercoles 26 de mayo.  Si tienen alguna pregunta por favor mandeme un mensaje.

Dear Parents: I am very proud of all the wonderful work my students are doing during our distance learning. The SEESAW activities for this week have been assigned and I am also sending the new spelling words for this week are here! You can do the spelling words activities and send the pictures through SEESAW. I have 18 students signed in on HAPPYNUMBERS.COM but only about half of my students are actually doing their 20 minutes a day. Please make sure your child spends at least 20 minutes a day to help them get ready for first grade. Epic! was introduced last week and I have only 5 students reading books.They are doing a great job reading between 7-12 books each. I am so proud of my Readers: Jose, Delilalah, Anthonella, Angel and Cindy. Please let me know if you need the login information EPIC!. This week our theme for Spirit week is HATS off to our students: Please send me a picture of you wearing a hat by Wednesday 5/20, it does not have to be a selfie, it could include your family but all need to be wearing hats. Estimados padres: Estoy muy orgullosa del gran esfuerzo y el trabajo que están haciendo a través del aprendizaje de distancia. Las actividades nuevas de SEESAW ya están asignadas para esta semana y estoy mandando las palabras de ortografía para la semana aquí! Pueden hacer el trabajo con las palabras nuevas de ortografia y tambien tomar fotos y mandarlas por SEESAW. Tengo 18 estudiantes registrados en HAPPYNUMBERS.COM pero solo la mitad están trabajando 20 minutos diarios. Es muy importante que los estudiantes trabajen en matemáticas 20 minutos diarios para que estén preparados para el primer grado. EPIC! Es un programa donde los estudiantes pueden escuchar muchos cuentos y ver historia en video. Les mande la información para EPIC! La semana pasada pero solo 5 estudiantes están leyendo libros entre 7-12 libros. Estoy muy orgullosa de mis lectores: José, Delilah, Anthonella, Angel y Cindy. Por favor me dicen si necesitan la información para entrar al programa EPIC! Esta semana la foto del espíritu escolar es Nos quitamos los sombreros a nuestros estudiantes! Asi que la foto que van a mandar es todo con sombreros! No tiene que ser el estudiante solo puede ser toda la familia con sombreros, mandenme la foto a no mas tardar del dia miercoles 5/20/ con sus sombreros! Hello Parents: Hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day. This week we will meet again for our zoom meeting on Friday, May 15 @ 11am. We will be sending out the invitation and the theme for our ZOOM meeting. The theme for our Spirit day this week is SPORTS, so wear your favorite sports shirt or you can take a picture with sports equipment, basketball or soccer ball or a bat and a cap. Just be sure to send me your picture by Wednesday, May 13, so we can get your picture on our Villacorta School page. I am putting up the Spelling words for this week, May 11-15. Please work on the spelling words each day. Also, please work on HappyNumbers.com for at least 20 minutes a day. I will be putting the new Seesaw Activities up on Monday for you to work on. Please continue to send me your child’s work on Seesaw, they are all working hard at home and I am so very proud of all of my students and the parents for their great support during the distance learning. Hola Padres: Espero que todos disfrutaron del día de la madres. Esta semana otra vez nos vemos durante la junta ZOOM de los viernes, 15 de mayo a las 11 am. Despues les mando las invitaciones para la junta ZOOM con el tema. El tema de la semana del espíritu escolar es los deportes, te puedes poner tu camisa de tu equipo favorito o puedes tomar foto jugando tu deporte favorito, por ejemplo con una pelota de soccer, un bat y una cachucha o echando canastas de basquetbol. Pero manden la foto, NO más tarde del día miércoles, 13 de mayo, para poner tu foto deportiva en la página de la escuela Villacorta.  Aqui les estoy mandando las palabras de ortografía para esta semana del 11 al 15 de mayo. Por favor hagan cada día el trabajo con las palabras. Tambien deben de estar trabajando en HappyNumbers.com por 20 minutos diarios. También voy a poner las actividades nuevas en Seesaw el lunes para que puedan hacer las actividades durante la semana. Por favor sigan mandandome el trabajo por Seesaw, todos los estudiantes están trabajando muy bien en casa y estoy muy orgullosa de ellos y de los padres por su gran apoyo durante el aprendizaje a través de la distancia. Hello Parents: We are now in May and most of the students have devices and the internet. Please read the new monthly packet for May along with the weekly spelling words. Take time to work each day on the packet using the spelling words, Seesaw activities and Happynumbers.com as well as practicing high frequency words and reading books. Also, take time to do fun activities outdoors, arts and crafts, make healthy snacks and do plenty of exercise to keep the students balanced in all their needs. We will continue to do our ZOOM meetings on Fridays at 11am, we will send out the invitation with the theme and look forward to seeing our kindergarten students LIVE!! Our Spirit theme this week is CRAZY Hair day…. We are so excited to see what you all come up with to show us your Crazy Hair, but please remember that the pictures must be sent to us by Wednesday, May 6th in order to be included in the video that is posted on the Villacorta Website on Fridays. We really enjoy seeing the pictures because we miss our students and families so much!! We will also be presenting our April Students of the Month and April Viking of the Month awards very soon. Hola Padres: Ya estamos en mayo y casi todos los estudiantes están trabajando con Ipads y tienen internet. Por favor lean la hoja del trabajo para mayo y las palabras de ortografía para esta semana. Tomen tiempo para trabajar cada dia con su hijo/a en las palabras de ortografía, actividades de Seesaw, HappyNumbers.com, practiquen las palabras de alta frecuencia y lean libros cada dia. También tomen tiempo para hacer actividades a fuera, artes manuales, hacer bocadillos saludables y bastante ejercicio porque los estudiantes necesitan tener balance en sus vidas. Vamos a seguir con las juntas de ZOOM los días viernes a las 11am, después les mandamos las invitaciones con el tema de esta semana. Es muy divertido ver a nuestros estudiantes en VIVO!!! Nuestro tema del Espíritu escolar es Pelo LOCO o (despeinados)... pero recuerden de mandar su foto a más tardar el día miércoles, 6 de mayo para que puedan estar en el video que pueden ver en la página de la escuela Villacorta el dia viernes. Nos encanta ver sus fotos y los de la familia porque los extrañamos tanto!!! También muy pronto vamos a presentar a los Estudiantes del mes de abril y a los Vikingos del mes de abril.Nos va a dar mucho gusto reconocer a los estudiantes que han estado trabajando mucho durante todo el mes el que estuvimos en de aprendizaje a distancia. Hello Parents: Thank you so much to all the students who attended our Zoom meeting last Friday, it was so nice to see the students live. This week Mrs. Norlund and I will be meeting with our kindergarten students. We will send you more details as we soon as we have the day and time and the theme ready. Also,THANK YOU to all the families that sent pictures of your child with their Teddy Bears, we had a few issues but we are working hard to resolve them but I hope you will join our Sprit Week by showing off your families to us!!! Please send me a picture of your family on Seesaw or Remind.... I will immediately respond by making a comment so you know I got it.... somehow I lost a couple of pictures last week and I feel so sad about that. Please send your family picture to me by Wednesday April 29 to be included. If I get them on THURSDAY it is too late!!!  The new Seesaw assignments will be assigned after I send this email to be ready to go on Monday, April 27, 2020.

Please have your child work on Happynumbers.com for 20 minutes a day so they can learn the concepts needed for first grade. If you have any issues with the iPads, the internet or anythings else please send me a message and I will do my best to solve any issues we have that prevents your child from learning and participating in our long distance learning. Hola Padres: Gracias a todos los estudiantes que participaron en la junta de Zoom el viernes pasado, fue un placer ver a todos nuestros estudiantes en vivo. Esta semana la maestra Norlund y yo vamos a tener otra junta con los estudiantes de kinder y  les mandaremos los detalles en cuanto tengamos la fecha, la hora y el tema de la junta. También, les quiero dar las gracias a todas las familias que mandaron las fotos de sus hijos/as con su monito de peluche, tuve algunos problemas or que se me perdieron una fotos, y los siento si se paso la foto de su hijo/a, esta semana al recibir las fotos les voy a mandar un mensaje para que sepan que si la recibí. Por favor participen en la semana de Espirito escolar mandando su foto de su familia a mi travez Remind o Seesaw no mas tardar el día miércoles 29 de abril para poder incluir los. Si me mandan la foto el Jueves ya sera muy tarde!!!  El trabajo nuevos de esta semana van esterar listo el lunes, 27 de abril 2020. Por favor aseguren se que sus hijos/as están trabajando en happy numbers.com por lo menos 20 minutos diarios para que puedan aprender los conceptos que van a necesitar en el primer grado. Si tienen algún problema con la iPad, la internet o alguna otra cosa que no permita a su estudiante aprender o participar en sus estudios,  por favor manden me un mensaje. These worksheets can be printed and done at home. The work packet starts on page 3-12 only. If you can not print at home or call the Parent Hotline and ask them to print it and mail it to your home. The RUSD parent hotline number is 626 854-8549 and it's open from 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. Then please take a picture and as you do each page and post on your Seesaw account for me so I can review your work and save it. Thank you for your support. 

Hello Everyone: Hope everyone is staying healthy and staying HOME!! I am putting up the spelling words for the week of April 20-24, 2020 and I want to tell you about 2 exciting events this week :-) First, we will be having SPIRIT WEEK long distance! This week I want you to take a picture of your student with their favorite stuffed anima, super hero or doll. Then send the pictures to me thru Seesaw or Remind app. I will then be able to post the picture on our Villacorta Website. Please send me the picture by WEDNESDAY, April 22 and then on Friday, April 24 you can go to the Villacorta Page and see the schools picture of the students with their favorite stuffed animal/superhero/doll. Look for MY picture too!! The other exciting event is that we are planning a zoom meeting with all of the TK/Kindergarten students for FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2020. We will all be able to see each other and say HELLO live, so plan on joining us LIVE on on Friday 4/24 at 10:00 am and we will all be wearing our Pajamas bring your stuff animals too!! Also, I am proud of the students that are working hard on Happy numbers and Seesaw. I have about 15 students doing awesome work on these programs along with the daily work assignment from the Villacorta page. Thank you parents for your support. See you on Friday!!!!!
