COMMUNITY LEADERS PROVIDE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS AT ANNUAL “PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY” EVENT MARCH 1

 ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA  – FEBRUARY 28, 2022 – Business and community leaders from across the San Gabriel Valley will learn what it is like to be a school principal as they support schools and provide high school scholarships at the annual “Principal for a Day” event on March 1, 2022.  Schools in the Rowland Unified School District, Bassett Unified School District, and Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will host community leaders to be “guest” principals to tour their school campuses. This year the Principal for a Day recognition ceremony will be held virtually by event host Dr. Julie Mitchell, Superintendent of the Rowland Unified School District, and Master of Ceremonies Mr. Anthony Duarte, CEO of the Regional Chamber of Commerce – San Gabriel Valley and Board of Education Member for Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. The 14 scholarship winners will be introduced and the ceremony will be posted on the Rowland Unified School District’s You Tube Channel at 9:00 a.m. on March 1, 2022.

From Hacienda La Puente Unified School District – La Puente High School: Samantha Barba-Coleman, Los Altos High School: Zanett Montiel, Wilson High School: Ashley De La Cruz, Workman High School: Noel Soto-Covarrubias, Valley Alternative High School: Alejandra Valencia, Willow Adult Education: Emmanuel Rodriguez.
